Dirk, a Chinese national and holds a bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He has also attained Advanced Sommelier Certificate from the Court of Master Sommelier. Dirk started his career with Peninsula Clubs and Consultancy Services as Management Trainee in 2015 and his last position was Assistant Sommelier – Felix in Peninsula Hong Kong. In 2018, Dirk joined Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong and have assumed the roles of Sommelier – Pierre and Sommelier – Mandarin Grill & Bar. Subsequently, he was promoted to Head Sommelier – The Aubrey in January 2021.

Dirk returned to China and joined China World Summit Wing, Beijing as Hotel Sommelier end of 2021. After one year, Dirk decided to re-join the MO family, and join The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong, in November 2022 as a Director of Wine, overseeing the wine operation of 3 Michelin Starred Restaurant Amber and in charge of the wine purchase and inventory control of the Hotel. Dirk has also been one of the four exclusive International judges of Japan Wine Competition in 2023 and 2024.
